Deborah & Andy: Winter wedding | Farnham

Hello there lovelies and a very warm welcome to all our new readers – you have picked a momentous day to pop by!  I am beyond thrilled to be sharing our very first ‘real wedding’ feature on Valley Brides this afternoon – courtesy of one of our favourite wedding photographers, Hayley Savage Photography.

Deborah and Andy, both account directors, married on 12th December 2014, at Northbrook Park in Farnham, in a gorgeously glamorous and festive affair!

Our vision was for a Christmas Winter Wonderland! We didn’t want anything about the day to be ‘cliché wedding’.  We always had that in mind.  For everything!  We wanted people to have a party but ultimately to remember it forever and always think ‘that was completely Andy and Deb.  Like nothing I have been to before.’”

winter-portraitI’ve never met any individual I have loved being around so much as Andy.  As soon as he enters a room I light up inside.  From the off, he made me glow like I never had done before and just made everything lovely.  We started dating about 18 months after first meeting at work and almost 7 years later I still look forward to getting home and seeing him every day.  Everyone who meets him loves him.  He’s a wonderful human being who I have been so lucky to have made my best friend.

winter-bridesmaidsThe girls from White Lilac did an amazing job with the flowers! One of my favourite moments of the day was walking in and seeing the wedding breakfast room all laid out – it took my breath away!  The florists could not have done a better job.  People were speechless – it looked like an enchanted forest!

surrey-weddingThe snow machine was magical! We did it so that just as we kissed at the end of the ceremony the snow machine started.  I gave a bit of a cheesy ‘oh my gosh’ and  ‘it’s snowing!’ and the guests erupted in laughter –  everyone still talks about it!

engagement-ringAndy proposed to Deborah over dinner in her favourite place in Mallorca, although things didn’t quite go according to plan…

Deborah: “That’s it.  If you don’t ask me to marry you this year I’m off!’  ( a bit tongue in cheek)

Andy:       “So what would you say now if I did ask you?”

Deborah:  “Oh got a ring on you have you?!”

Andy:      “Yes! I was going to wait until after we ate but if it will shut you up for the rest of the meal…”

“Andy had, unbeknownst to me, actually designed my engagement ring himself, along with my sister.  They had even been and chosen the diamond.  I get comments on it almost every day- it’s fabulous!”northbrook-place-wedding

christmas-place-settings“We chose our venue carefully to be sure it fitted in with what was most important to us.  We didn’t want any breaks within the day when guests might get bored or lost.   At Northbrook Park, we could move seamlessly from room to room.  We had the ceremony room, then we went to a marquee for pre-dinner drinks before heading back to the ceremony room for food.  In the evening, we headed to the orangery for the reception.”

xmas-wedding-table

xmas-wedding-surrey“We decided to DIY our favours and table plan and I’d recommend this approach to other brides – you really don’t need to spend a fortune to be creative!  Instead of a table plan I made individual envelopes for each guest and hung them on a Christmas tree.  Inside the envelope was a chocolate gold coin and a personalized letter from Santa confirming their table for the wedding breakfast.  The guests loved finding their envelopes and receiving their letter!”

fun-wedding-danceI LOVED performing our first dance while our personal friends performed the music!  For the pre-dinner drinks we listened to Christmas songs performed by Twice Acoustic, who were fabulous – she looked like a model and he sounded exactly like Professor Green!

Words of Bridal Wisdom:    Make your wedding as personal to yourselves as possible – if you love a trend, that’s great, go for it, but look for ways to add your own twist on it.  Above all, plan a day that you and your guests will enjoy and remember that you don’t have to spend a fortune to create an amazing wedding – creativity is way more important!”

Most loved vendors:    Fusion Catering’s food was AMAZING! Hayley Savage Photography of course – she was just  lovely to work with.  Amanda, who did my hair and make-up  and the White Lilac girls, who did our flowers were awesome!

It has been a pleasure to share Deborah and Andy’s magical Christmas wedding with you today and I wish them an equally magical marriage.  Thank you to Hayley Savage for sharing the beautiful images and to the vendors listed below who helped to make the couple’s day everything they hoped it would be.
